The other woman remains a constant threat for many women who are married or engaged.  The lure of someone else coming into your lives and encroaching on sacred ground is almost unimaginable to some.  This is a reality that is not always instigated by the male.  The “I’m better than she” fosters a competitive mentality.  A sense of emptiness and lack of achievement are contributing factors that are totally unrelated to the situation at hand.

Her agenda has less to do with you the wife or girlfriend personally, but has everything to do with her perception and assessment of your relationship.  There may be some contributing mental disorders associated with this practice.  Some may refer to this as stalking, but the man is not necessarily the focus, but a symbol of recognition and achievement that exceeds the scope of caring about him, his feelings, and least of all you.

The average woman that is attracted to a married or engaged man would use the “what if” theory and leave it there in the recessed of her mind.  This type of woman will not allow such and urge to be constrained and instead of “what if”, it becomes “what would” or “what will be”.  The main distinction is that she will act upon her impulses.  Women with these emotional disorders may stoop to any means to get what she wants, i.e. running personals for threesomes with couples or one-on-ones with the wife.  These women can prove dangerous if the situation is not addressed early on.  The male must avoid encouraging her to participate in the pursuit of her goal.  Things may become more complex if he or the wife or girlfriends have had sexual relations with her.  A sense of equity and ownership prevails that makes her an equal partner in her mind.
